My training work to climb Mount Everest continues. In the last 10 months, I have:
- Ascended 160,691 vertical feet
- Hiked & snowshoed 543 miles
- Spent 454 hours working out
And there is more to come.
I train by climbing a lot of mountains here in Colorado in combination with vigorous gym work. For 26 years, I have trained at the excellent Raintree Athletic Club in Fort Collins, Colorado. They have helped me get fit for a lot of mountains – thanks RAC!
Today, they asked me to write a guest blog about my preparations to climb Mount Everest.
You can read “Journey to Everest – Fitness and Fortitude” here.
You can follow the RAC on Facebook here and on Twitter as @RACFortCollins
If you live in Northern Colorado, try working out at the RAC – they can even get you ready to climb Everest!
