Climbing Out – Overcoming Life’s
Crevasses
After Jim and
his partner summited
Mt.
Rainier, a snowbridge over
a hidden crevasse collapsed and dropped them both 80 feet into a
glacial crevasse. Jim survived the fall; Mike did not. Completely
buried by snow, Jim was terrified, injured and alone. To escape he
had to dig himself out, and then climb an overhanging ice wall with
minimal gear.
From this
intense survival situation, Jim shares hard-earned lessons about
facing big challenges, even when it seems impossible.
Learn how acting like a PRO (perseverance, resilience, and
optimism) enables you to overcome the tough crevasses in your life
and business.
After hearing
this inspirational survival story, audience members will be
empowered to climb toward bigger summits.
Through photos, props and stories, Jim makes this intense
experience come alive, creating an energy that will have them
buzzing during your event, and for long afterwards.

Leaders of
high-altitude expeditions and rescues face rapidly changing
conditions, limited resources and uncertain team dynamics – just
like today’s fast-paced business world.
By examining extreme leadership situations, your team will
uncover key lessons for being a solid leader and a reliable team
member.
Drawing on
experiences from dramatic rescues (Longs Peak at 13,900' and Denali at 19,000'), Jim facilitates a thought-proving and
invigorating program on leadership and
teamwork at the edge of human endurance.
After setting up real-world scenarios for extreme rescues, your
team works together to resolve the complex problems by
developing rescue plans. They must
address limited resources, communication challenges, and how to
support the team while striving toward a lofty goal.
The lessons are
redirected back to their workplace and personal lives, so they can
apply the powerful teachings from these remarkable rescues to their
daily challenges.

minute keynote, or as a 90-120 minute interactive workshop/breakout)

Summit
Secrets - How to Reach Your Highest Goals
Struggling up high altitude mountains requires the
utmost in goal setting, self-discipline and teamwork.
In this session, Jim shares the secrets of how climbers
attain such lofty summits, and how everyone can use these strategies
to set and reach their highest goals.
Accompanied by spectacular color images, Jim shares the most
difficult challenges and greatest performances from expeditions to
the Andes, Alaska, and the
Himalayas. The audience will learn how working backwards
from the summit goal is crucial for forging a path through unknown
terrain.
Each individual will pick a challenging goal that is important
to them, and then develop a specific plan for getting there.
By identifying the resources, recognizing the hazards, and
establishing key sub-peaks to reach first, your people can use the
Summit Secrets to reach any immense goals.

A challenging and fun team building game |
Get your participants on their feet,
learning and having fun!
For select executive gatherings, Jim can facilitate adventure-based
team building activities inside or
outside. A ropes course
or indoor climbing wall can be utilized if readily available, but
they are not required – with excellent facilitation, the best team
building usually occurs right on the ground!
As a long-time climbing instructor and trained challenge
course facilitator, Jim can help your group hone their teamwork and
communication skills, while pushing themselves mentally (hint –
these events are not about physical ability or strength!).
All activities are “Challenge by Choice” (no one
is forced to do anything) and there is always a role for everyone.
By adding a team building session on to the foundation formed
by Jim’s programs, we can create an adventure-based learning plan
that focuses on the goals and issues most important to your team.
